Last weekend, our team attended Drift Matsuri, the UK’s only weekender drift event. Among the screaming engines and the clouds of tyre smoke, our forged wheels were put to the ultimate test on a fully prepped drift car, driven by our own Nico Schuh (nico_cleanstyle) and they didn’t just perform… they showed what we can do!

From the first corner, our 3 piece forged Zento MS1 handled the intense demands of drifting with absolute confidence. High heat, extreme lateral forces, and rapid transitions, nothing phased them. The combination of strength, balance, and lightweight construction made for a wheel that didn’t just look incredible under the spotlight, but performed flawlessly on track. No other motorsport will have a wheel spinning sideways at 150mph wheel speed to then abruptly stop at 0mph while the handbrake is pulled only to then release and be spinning at high speed again!
A common misconception about drifting is that the car doesn’t have a lot of rear axle grip. However, with higher horsepower and higher level drifting it’s quite the opposite; the rear axle will be gripped up as much as possible in order to steer the car with the accelerator and generate a lot of traction and ‘forwards bite’. Nico has his Altezza ‘gripped up’ to the max; 265 Semi Slick rear tyre on 20PSI is a true test to our bead design and spoke strength.

It wasn’t just performance that turned heads. Between runs, we had countless drivers and spectators stop by to ask about the wheels, the fully chrome finish and distinctive design made sure the car stood out even in a sea of smoke and noise. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do.

Drift Matsuri was more than just a test, it was proof that Zento Wheels can handle the toughest challenges motorsport can throw at them, while keeping your car looking its best.

We’d like to thank the Drift Matsuri organisers and all the drivers who made the weekend unforgettable.

This is just the beginning. More events, more builds, and more Zento Wheels action is coming soon.
